Who Are We
Fixin The Coast is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving animal welfare across Mississippi’s Gulf Coast. Its primary mission is to reduce the overpopulation of domestic animals through targeted spay and neuter initiatives, creating sustainable, long-term solutions for the region. This includes comprehensive Trap–Neuter–Return (TNR) programs for community cats.
Beyond prevention, the organization provides critical care for orphaned, injured, and homeless animals. These lifesaving efforts are made possible through a trusted network of veterinarians and rescue partners, ensuring animals receive the medical attention and support they need to survive and thrive.
As an all-volunteer organization, Fixin The Coast’s impact is driven by strong community involvement, donor support, and grant funding. Contributions directly fund medical care for homeless cats, spay and neuter vouchers for pets, and essential resources that improve outcomes for animals at risk.
Fixin The Coast is committed to building a safer, more compassionate future for domestic animals throughout the community. As a “Friends of Animal Control” organization, it supports animal welfare professionals by providing financial assistance for medical care and TNR efforts. In addition to advocacy, the organization offers opportunities for continued education and professional development, strengthening collaboration among rescues, Animal Control, and the communities they serve.
Together, these efforts promote informed, effective, and humane practices—creating lasting change for animals across the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

Major Accomplishments
Since its founding, Fixin The Coast has achieved significant, measurable success in reducing animal overpopulation and advancing animal welfare across Mississippi’s Gulf Coast.
The organization has facilitated more than 6,500 cat spay and neuter surgeries, resulting in a substantial reduction in future homeless animal populations. In addition to these preventative efforts, countless lifesaving surgeries and medical treatments have been provided—many focused on community cats through targeted Trap–Neuter–Return (TNR) initiatives.
Fixin The Coast has also made a lasting impact at the municipal level. The organization played an instrumental role in the passage of a city ordinance in Biloxi that allows for free-roaming cats, provided they are part of a managed TNR program. This forward-thinking policy reflects a humane, effective approach to population control and serves as a model for community-based solutions.
These accomplishments demonstrate the organization’s commitment to delivering tangible results through strategic action, strong partnerships, and community support—creating meaningful, lasting change for animals across the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

How We Work
Fixin The Coast is powered by a small, all-volunteer team of dedicated community advocates committed to creating real, lasting change for animals along Mississippi’s Gulf Coast. Through the strategic use of grants, donor funding, and partnerships, the organization works to make spay and neuter services accessible and affordable for those who need them most.
Another focus of the mission is supporting Trap–Neuter–Return (TNR) efforts for homeless cats through a hands-on, community-driven program. Caregivers and colony feeders can apply for assistance, gaining access to humane trap rentals and financial support for approved sterilization surgeries. This approach empowers residents to be part of the solution while ensuring humane and effective population control.
At the same time, Fixin The Coast is deeply invested in education and advocacy, helping the public understand that sterilization is the most effective way to reduce suffering, overpopulation, and the strain on local shelters.
For owned pets, the organization offers low-cost spay and neuter vouchers, as funding allows, helping responsible pet owners access essential care for their animals.
Together, these efforts are building a more sustainable and compassionate animal welfare system—one animal, one neighborhood, and one solution at a time.
